Standard First Aid $45.00 Course description: This 4 hour course provides individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and provide basic care for sudden illness and injury.

Course description:
Recognizing and handling emergency situations, caring for breathing and cardiac emergencies, performing CPR on adults and using an AED on victims of sudden cardiac arrest until advanced medical help is available. Basic precautions for preventing disease transmission. This is a 4 hour class. ***THIS DOES NOT MEET REQUIREMENTS FOR EMT OR NURSING PROGRAMS***

Course description:
Introduces instructor candidates to the history, structure and activities of the American Red Cross. Prepares instructor candidates to teach American Red Cross specialty courses to diverse populations. An instructor candidate must complete an instructor specialty course within one year of completing Fundamentals of Instructor Training.

  • This certification remains valid as long as individual holds a current American Red Cross instructor authorization.

This 9 hour course provides individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize emergencies, access the Emergency Medical System, and to recognize and provide BASIC care for breathing and cardiac emergencies and sudden illness or injury emergencies for adults, children and infants, until advanced medical help arrives. ***THIS DOES NOT MEET REQUIREMENTS FOR EMT OR NURSING PROGRAMS***

CPR/AED For the Professional Rescuer $85.00o

Course description:
This 8 hour course is recognized by the state EMT and RN licensing agencies and is equivalent to the AHA Health Care Provider or level CPR. This course provides individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize emergencies, access the Emergency Medical System, and to recognize and provide basic care for breathing and cardiac emergencies for adults, children and infants, until advanced medical help arrives. Participants are trained in two-rescuer CPR, resuscitation, and use of a bag-valve mask.

Topics to be covered:
  • CPR for the Professional Rescuer Valid 1 Year (Equivalent to AHA Health Care Provider CPR) AED - Valid 1Year Requirements: Participants must successfully complete all required skills outlined in the course and pass a written examination with a score of 80% or better

Course description:
Dogs and cats are more than pets,they're family. And just like any other member of the family, pets deserve to be cared for and protected. That's why the American Red Cross has developed Dog First Aid and Cat First Aid, comprehensive guides that include everything owners need to know to keep their pets healthy and safe. From basic pet owner responsibilities, like spaying, neutering and administering medications to managing breathing or cardiac emergencies and preparing for disasters, these guides offer information and advice pet owners can trust.

Topics to be covered:
  • Dog First Aid and Cat First Aid feature an easy-to-use first aid reference guide that covers nearly 70 health topics. The accompanying DVD showsstep-by-stephow to manage a variety of urgent care situations
  • including car accidents; wounds; electrical shock; and eye
  • foot and ear injuries. For the health and safety of family petsand peace of mind for the whole familyDog First Aid and Cat First Aid will be the guides owners will turn to again and again.

Wilderness First Aid $160.00o
Offered:September 9 and 10 8a-5p; Nov 15&16 8a-5p
Course description:
This is a good basic course in backcountry emergency response for almost any location. This 16 hour course is for those who work, live or play in remote areas away from the usual EMS service. Even though the emergency workers near these areas may be trained to search for and rescue those in need, there may be a delay in the notification of assistance, the time required to get to the patient, or in moving the patient to more advanced treatment. It expands the concepts learned in Standard First Aid: When Help is Delayed to give more detailed information and hands-on skills practice. This class covers assessment and urgent first aid techniques, but not in-depth CPR. YOU MUST HAVE A CURRENT CPR AND MINIMUM STANDARD FIRST AID CERTIFICATION IN ORDER TO TAKE THIS CLASS. A certification can be issued that has an expiration of 3 years A minimum age of 15 is recommended for participants due to the serious nature of the course and scenarios. The American Camping Association has approved the American Red Cross Wilderness First Aid Basics for the Part C First Aider in their accreditation standards. The Boy Scouts of America have also recommended the Red Cross course. Dates offered: (3 day Classes) September 9th and 10th 8am-5pm and November 15th and 16th from 8am-5pm.
