DONATE A PINT AND HELP THE NATIONAL DISASTER RELIEF FUND!
When you donate a pint of blood at our Save A Life September Blood Drive on Friday September 26th from 2-5pm, United Blood Services will donate $3.00 to the National Disaster Relief Fund.  This fund has been depleted by the Hurricanes of 2008 and Durango can help start filling it back up again!  Call us at 259-5383 to reserve your spot!

IF YOU ARE WANTING TO VOLUNTEER TO HELP WITH THE GULF COAST HURRICANES, PLEASE CONTACT OUR OFFICE AT 970-259-5383

HOW WE CAN HELP

Disaster Assistance

We are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year to respond to
disasters (house fires, floods, aviation emergencies, etc.) in our area.
We will provide victims with immediate emergency assistance,
including clothing, shelter and food.  In La Plata and San Juan County, call 970-759-8417.  For Archuleta County disasters, call 970-759-8438.  For Montezuma and Dolores Counties call 970-799-2955

Service to Armed Forces
The Southwest Colorado Chapter of the American Red Cross cooperates with the various military branches to provide members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families with timely and reliable access to emergency financial assistance and communications.
Our goal in peacetime, and especially in times of war, is to keep families and military personnel connected when other forms of communication are inaccessible.
If you need assistance or know of someone needing assistance, please call 970-759-2496- 24 hours a day.

Health and Safety Classes
American Red Cross First Aid, CPR and AED programs are designed to give you the confidence to respond in an emergency situation with skills that can save a life. .

Red Cross Preparedness programs in First Aid, CPR and AED are available for any age and can be tailored to the needs of specific groups and individuals. Whether you are a Red Cross volunteer, work with children, want training for employees, are a professional rescuer, or simply want to know how to help someone in an emergency, the American Red Cross has a program for you.

Blood Services
We all expect blood to be there for us and for our family when the need arises. But barely a fraction of those who can give do. Yet sooner or later, virtually all of us will face a time of great vulnerability in which we will need blood.

The local organization that takes blood for donations in SW Colorado is United Blood Services in Durango.  They can be contacted at 970-385-4601.

Volunteer
Join the Red Cross team by donating your time and talents. Volunteers are the heart and soul of the American Red Cross. Volunteers serve at all levels of the organization, from disaster relief, providing health and safety instruction to coordinating casework, performing clerical tasks, and greeting people at the front desk.
The Chapter has volunteers reflecting all ages, range of incomes and the diverse community. Our volunteer positions are in La Plata, San Juan, Dolores, Montezuma and Archuleta Counties, making it possible for the Red Cross to touch the lives of thousands of individuals in need in your community.  You may never work harder or get dirtier or get paid less . . . but it will be the best job you never got paid to do.

PLEASE MAKE A DONATION TO OUR SW COLORADO CHAPTER

Your donation makes a difference. The American Red Cross is not a government agency and depends on the generosity of the American people in order to provide vital programs and services.

Each month, our local Red Cross serves children and families right here in Southwestern Colorado.  Whether it be helping a family after a house fire or flood, training a lifeguard to save a child's life, or helping a military family during an emergency, we're there for our community.

Please contact our office and find out how you can help us help our community.
